Karin Marie Wach

A German-born artist, writer and psychoanalytic psychotherapist living and working in England. Her work is concerned with loss, memory and transformation. Three major bodies of work engage with the changes occurring along the Thames through the “transformation of snapshot into medium into painting”. Individual artworks and installations explore other media and concerns.

The artistic preoccupation is with the medium itself: the snapshot. It is the material from which a ‘painting’ is created which partakes of the documentary and the imagination.
